FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jackson, MO November 3, 2017 – Liberty Utilities would like to thank the community for their contribution to the success of the second annual Pink Up Golf Scramble. With the support of 120 participants and over 50 local business sponsors, Liberty Utilities was able to donate $10,000 to Saint Francis Healthcare System’s Pink Up campaign.
“The continued support of this community to aide in our efforts to give back makes me proud,” said Mike Beatty, Vice President – Operations of Liberty Utilities Central, “without their help we would not have been able to raise $10,000 for this great cause.”
“Liberty Utilities is the largest business contributor for our campaign and raises the most by hosting a third party event,” said James Wilferth, Vice President of Saint Francis Healthcare System Foundation. Saint Francis launched Pink Up in 2010 to raise awareness of breast cancer in Southeast Missouri and to encourage early detection. Proceeds from the Pink Up campaign benefit Dig for Life, a Saint Francis fund that provides free mammograms and other cancer support services for local women who otherwise could not afford them. Each $100 raised through fundraising and events provides a free mammogram.
Winners from the Pink Up Golf Scramble included the following: First Place A Flight; Josh Sexton, JJ Schulz, Lucas McCulley, and Brandon Cooper. First Place B Flight; Mike Ostrander, Craig Hutson, Tom Brown, and Patrick Tankersley. First Place C Flight; Mike Evans, Bill Evans, Cody Evans, and Jeff Walters.
