1. Why is the billing schedule change necessary?

Since Liberty’s investment in Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology, the billing schedule change is necessary to allow our operations team to condense the amount of time it takes to collect meter reads each month.

2. What is AMR?

Automated Meter Reading (AMR) is a radio-based technology that will allow Liberty to read meters without having to access a customer’s property.  However, occasional access may be needed to perform maintenance.

3. When will this take place?

Depending on your service location, this may happen as early as August 2018.

4. Is there anything I need to do?

No. Customers do not need to make any changes or adjustments during this transition time.

5. Will I experience an interruption in service during the transition?

There will be no interruption in your natural gas service during this transition.

6. How will this affect my bill?

This will affect your bill for one month. The new meter reading schedule may cause you to receive a bill with a slight increase or decrease in the number of service days depending on what time of the month your meter consumption data is collected. This information is located on your bill under Service Dates.

Example 1: Your one-time transition bill may have a slight decrease in the number of service days in the instance that your Service Date is towards the end of the month.

Example 2: Your one-time transition bill may have a slight increase in the number of days of service in the instance that your Service Date is towards the beginning of the month.

7. How will the slight increase or decrease in the number of service days affect my Special Payment Arrangement (SPA)?

SPA accounts will not be affected.

8. How will the slight increase or decrease in the number of service days affect Budget Billing?

Budget billing is based on a rolling 12-month average of your statements. Therefore your account may be affected, but have minimal impact.

9. How will the slight increase or decrease in the number of service days affect Auto Draft?

Auto draft customers will not see a change in the due date of their account. Variances of 1-2 days can occur as a result of weekends or holidays in the monthly schedule.

10. Will my bill due date change?

No. Bill due dates will not change. Variances of 1-2 days can occur as a result of weekends or holidays in the monthly schedule.
* Please Note: Although bill due dates will not change, the meter read date will be changed on all future bills. The new meter read date will be within five days of the first of the month.
