Energy Efficiency Education - Residential - Missouri Gas - Liberty

Liberty sponsors energy efficiency awareness curriculum for junior high students within our service area in Missouri. The goal is to educate students about the importance of energy.

Liberty Energy Educators Workshop

Produced in partnership with the EarthWays Center of the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Energy Educators Workshop is an exciting, and free opportunity for teachers to enhance their understanding of basic energy concepts, and learn how to connect these topics to principles of energy efficiency, conservation and sustainability.

During the one day workshop teachers explore the process it takes to turn an energy source to useful energy, conduct an energy audit of their school, and investigate renewable energy sources with solar ovens, wind turbines, and more! The Energy Educator’s Workshop features a combination of background information and hands-on activities to enhance educators’ understanding of energy concepts. Participants are provided with electronic copies of all materials and activities needed to bring the topic of energy to the classroom.

Updated annually with new lesson plans and STEM activities, this workshop is becoming a regular professional development opportunity for teachers throughout the Liberty service areas. Activities are cross-curricular and leveled to meet the needs of multiple grades (elementary, middle, and high school) and correlated to the Show-Me Standards, Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
